Robert Half Technology helps client to successfully design Microsoft Business Integration tradeshow demonstration

Business Situation
Our client provides the tools organizations need to streamline the development and management of business processes within and between organizations - relying heavily on the Internet and using Microsoft BizTalk Server. Microsoft chose our client to develop a tradeshow demonstration that showcased the technology of Next Generation Business Integration by highlighting the new features of SQL Server 2005. The demonstration for an upcoming tradeshow was to include a reference example of SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) plus BizTalk for Data Integration, due to our client's expertise in the area. In addition, our client was invited to work with Microsoft's development team to provide support for the new SSIS.

Project Scope
Our client initially considered tackling the project in-house. However, after careful consideration, they determined that they wanted additional resources and expertise to keep the project on track. An applications development specialist, with strong knowledge of Microsoft applications and data warehousing, was needed to help design and implement the project. Because of Robert Half Technology's strong reputation in providing skilled, pre-evaluated IT professionals, along with our distinction of being a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, we were asked to supply a consultant who fit the parameters of the job. An RHT consultant who possessed the specific technical skill set that both our client and Microsoft were looking for was quickly hired.

Since the goal of the project was to present Next Generation Business Integration using SSIS, a demo properly showcasing the new features and functionality of SQL Server was essential. The Robert Half Technology consultant played a pivotal role assisting the client in developing the demonstration from inception to delivery. In addition to developing the actual processes needed for the demo, our consultant participated in writing the script as well as the resulting white paper. In fact, the Robert Half Technology consultant also participated in the final project demonstration at Microsoft's headquarters.

The project was completed on time and was brought in under budget because the Robert Half Technology consultant worked effectively with the client team and Microsoft representatives, and was able to complete the work faster than anticipated. Microsoft was very satisfied with how the project turned out. In fact, Microsoft shipped the finished demo to its sales associates in order to educate them on the SSIS data integration process. Microsoft expects that this demonstration will significantly enhance the sales associates' understanding of the role of SQL Server 2005 and BizTalk Server 2006 in any integration scenario.
